She was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and helping others. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Forrest C. Brown whom she married on July 2, 1939; her daughter, Betty Adams of Canal Winchester, Ohio; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Brenda Brown, of Grantsville, WV; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Melvin Brown and Kenneth Anderson; and several nephews and a niece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Lyda Stephens States two sisters, Pauline States and Geraldine Anderson; three brothers, the Rev. W. Glen States, Paul States and his wife, Imogene and Carl States; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brown; one son-in-law, Paul Adams; and a niece Susan Creech. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Limestone United Methodist Church with Pastor Vera Archer officiating. Burial will follow in the Limestone United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
