He was born Aug. 19, 1968, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Jeanie L. (Deems) Deem and Larry A. Deem Sr. of Freeport, W.Va.
Larry was a faithful and active member of McFarlan Community Church. He was a WV wrestling referee official. He was an avid P.S.H.S., WVU and Pittsburgh Steelers sports fan. He truly enjoyed four-wheeling with his family and friends at Goose Creek. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Gulf War, was employed at Fenton Art Glass as an inventory controller and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 508.

Survivors, in addition to his father, Larry A. Deem Sr. of Freeport, he was the beloved husband of Amy Hart Deem, and beloved stepfather of Christian Brock, both of Walker. Also surviving are three sisters, Sara Lockhart and Sabrina McCune, both of Parkersburg, and Stephanie Deem of Freeport; maternal grandmother, Naomi L. Deems of Parkersburg; his mother-in-law, Linda Kirby Johnson of Parkersburg; brother-in-law, Jay Hart of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanie L. Deem; three infant brothers, Ronald, Robert and Harold Deem; and maternal grandfather, Harold F. Deem.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Charlene Spaur and the Rev. Nathan Copen officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
