She was born Oct. 9, 1926 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late William F. Cunningham and Gertrude Wines Cunningham. She was an active homemaker and volunteer in various community organizations such as Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels and Food Pantry. Lois was an active member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church for 48 years, serving in various roles including the Choir, Altar Guild, Vestry and Flower Director. She was the initial contact for the Parish Prayer Chain. In her later years, Lois spent time flower gardening and enjoying her grandsons.

Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Dennis R. Armstrong; one daughter, Trish K. Pritchard (Ron) and two grandsons, Nathan M. and Ryan L. Pritchard of Washington, W.Va; niece, Beverly Morrow of Homeland, Calif., and nephew, Pat Cunningham of Victorville, Calif; cousins, Marjorie Tyke Cunningham of Fort Myers, Fla., and Terry Wines, Kissimmee, Fla.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William F. Cunningham, and son, Michael Dennis Armstrong.

The funeral service for Lois will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 903 Charles St., Parkersburg. The Rev. John Seville will officiate and burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lois Armstrong Memorial Fund Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, 403 Seventh St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.2
