She was born in Parkersburg, WV on October 5, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Hugh Vanscoy and Florence Alt Dearth. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1964 and Mt. State College with honors as a medical assistant. She had worked for Brockway Glass for 14 years. She had worked for Buckeye Home Health and Gentiva Home Health Care for several years. She had also worked independantly in the Home Health Care Industry. Survivors include her husband Terry Deem, a son Carl Barr of Florida, a stepdaughter Dawn GRay of Florida, stepson Allen Deem of Parkersburg, her three brothers, Robert Vanscoy of Summit, WV, James Vanscoy of Wilmington, NC, Ronald Vanscoy of Ohio. Also surviving is her special friend Melba Farris and the family would like to thank her for her friendship, help and dedication. Services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will follow in the Deem Cemetery at Beatrice, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 and up to service time on Tuesday. Donations in her honor may be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society.1 |
