Terry graduated from Parkersburg High School. He was a former race car driver, racing sprint cars, go carts and stock cars. He owned and operated Terry's Auto Repair in South Parkersburg. He was an avid Volkswagen fan and specialized in their restoration and repair. He was a 32 degree mason and was a member of Masonic Lodge #169. Terry is survived by his son, Allen Deem of Parkersburg; a daughter, Dawn Gray of Florida; stepson, Carl Barr of Florida; several grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Robert Vanscoy, James Vanscoy and Ronald Vanscoy; and many close friends. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his wife in September of 2009. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
