Obituary* | Her obituary published on 25 October 2010 at Parkersburg News, Parkersburg, Wood County, WV; Garnet Delores Deems Wilson, 94, of Kites Run, went home with the Lord on October 24, 2010. Garnet was born on March 13, 1916 in Eatons-Goose Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethyl Deems. Garnet was a graduate of the Chicago School of Nursing and worked several years at St. Joseph’s Hospital and with Dr. E.C. Hartness. She was a member of the Park Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church. Garnet enjoyed gardening, canning and caring for and loving her family. Garnet resided at Sunbridge Care and Rehab in Parkersburg, where all of her caregivers loved and treated her like one of their family and she loved them also. For the special care she received, Garnet’s family is sincerely thankful. She is survived by three sisters, Myrtie (Wendy) Wenmoth, Lizzie (Larry) Corvin and Teeny Stout; daughter-in-law, Alberdia Wilson; step-children, Bill (Mary) Wilson, Paulette (Paul) Woodyard, and Barbara (Wayne) McKibben; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Garnet was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Wilson; second husband, George Wilson; three sons, Eugene, Robert and Larry; eight sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Abbey Reyes officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 P.M. Monday.1 |
