Death* | Viola Pickens died on 1 December 1982 at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg, Wood County, WV, at age 85; OBITUARY - PARKERSBURG NEWS VIOLA DEEM HUBBARD Viola Deem Hubbard, 85, of 1104-30th Street, died at St. Joseph's Hospital this morning. The Jackson County native was an alteration and seamstress employee of Kaybee Store in Parkersburg and Guard Cleaners. She was a member and past commander of Daughters of America in Parkersburg and Long Beach, California, and a member of the 40 and 8 American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Boyd Deem of Parkersburg and Lloyd Deem of Cucamonga, Calif.. five daughters, Helen Ebel of Houston, Texas, Thelma Phipps of Dayton, Ohio, and Frances Rogers, Doris Boggs, and Mary Ann Bowry of Parkersburg; 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a g. g. granddaughter, a stepson, Howard Deem, Sr. of Wheeling; and a stepdaughter, Kathleen Liggott of Parkersburg. Her first husband, George Rice, died in 1923, her second husband, Clarence C. Deem, died in 1946, her third husband, Harvey Hubbard died in 1972. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home with burial in Arlington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home starting at 7 p.m. Thursday. |
