Mrs. Susie M. Hoffman, 73, Mineral Wells, Rt. #1, died Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Wood County, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus M. and Eltha Page Deem. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and had taught Sunday School there for 35 years. She had been employed by Broida Stone & Thomas. Survivors include her husband, Glen Hoffman, two daughters, Mrs. Robert G. (Kathleen) Matheny, Mineral Wells, Rt. 1 and Mrs. Jerry C. (Juanita) Gard, Washington Rt. 1, two brothers, Roy Deem, California, and Rufus Deem Deland Fla., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Province, Kent, Ohio, and Mrs. Louise Connors, Deland, Fla, eight grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
