Note* | Benjamin Franklin Phillips The Phillips’s came from Ireland at an unknown date and settled at Norfolk, VA. Here Benjamin Phillip was born in 1810. At the age of 12 years, with his parents, Thomas D. Phillips and Sarah Lemon, he removed to Belington, Barbour County where he grew to manhood and where his parents died. In 1830, he came to Ritchie Co., WV, were he met and married May Deem, (daughter of Philip Deem) who was born in Ritchie Co., WV 1812. Shortly after their marriage they settled on the North Fork of Hughes River, six miles below Cairo, on the old homestead that is still in the hands of his heirs. Here, he continued to reside, until he died. |
