Note* | He Lewis Duvall, a farmer of Hopewell township, Washington Co., Penn.. According to Middle Plantation by Harry Wright Newman, he was the son of Louis Duvall and Hannah McAdams Duvall. Louis Duvall was raised in the Quaker Church and spent the early days on his fathers farm in East Pike Run Township, Washington County, PA. He married Mary Deems in 1853. She was a native of Clarksburg, Greene County, PA. During the early years in their marriage he operated a farm in East Pike Run Township. He left the Quaker Church and joined the Presbyterian Church. In 1879, he bought a 163 acre farm in Hopwell Township. |
